I am Lok-Kwan. I have practiced Oriental Medicine since 1997, first with Shiatsu and Tui Na, then with Acupuncture, Qigong and Herbs. My practice is based on a few principles:
The categories of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual are artificial with no inherent merit. Usually they reflect the limits of perspective and understanding. To treat a disease is to understand the life that is indivisible.
Disease entities, whether it be arthritis, any autoimmune problem, anxiety, depression, high cholesterol, diabetes, asthma, addiction or simply acid reflux, are convenient labels for a variety of signs and symptoms. It is more fruitful to look at them as stages of transformation. Understanding the mechanism of such transformation opens the way to healing.
Medicine should not be deterministic. There are always alternative ways to understand and solve a problem. There are always possibilities for positive change.
